建保5年（1217年）、源平合戦で有名な武将、梶原景時の兄である梶原景実によって創建されました。北条政子の安産祈願を執り行ったことから、古くから安産祈願、子育てに御神徳があるといわれています。10月第1日曜日に開催される神幸祭は、神輿渡御、船祭のほか郷土芸能も披露され、大勢の人々で賑わいます。早馬山の山頂には奥宮があります。
